Komplexe Menschenmenge

At the center of the interdisciplinary space “Complex Crowd” is a symbiosis of sound, light and the movement of the body. The people in the room become part of the (video) installations by generating sounds through their body movements and their interactions with each other, thus becoming a building block of the installation themselves. The time-based and ever-changing intermedia artwork consists of short and simple patterns that can be played one after the other by all visitors as they move around. The result is a spatial, sonic and visual exploration of the human body, with various sensory perceptions being addressed and activated. For this installation, the artist collective works with the visitors as “material” to create the ever-changing sound, the symphony of a complex crowd.

The structure of the performance resembles an experimental game and consists of a concert, movement and a stage set that conveys a completely new spatial experience, as well as costumes. Visitors become part of a space that combines the elements of night culture, music and performance for one evening. Everyone is invited to actively move around the space, experiment or simply let the impressions sink in. Movement and light become sounds. Sounds become images. Among other things, the performance is about the complexity of physical interactions between people. The integrated “Play-Dynamic” is therefore an essential component.
