Techno Bodies

“Techno Bodies” is a drawing-sculpture project that explores the relationship between technology and the human body. The works present life-size representations of bodies constructed with PLA filament and a 3D pen on molds of real people, emphasizing the connection between the physical and the digital.

The sculptures combine drawing techniques with modern 3D printing technology, creating both a tactile and visual experience. They challenge conventional understandings of the human body by presenting it simultaneously as present and absent, tangible yet ethereal.

Dress forms are used to represent the body, highlighting the relationship between clothing and identity. The project explores human sensuality and vulnerability through the contrasting qualities of PLA, a material that is both delicate and resilient.

“Techno Bodies” addresses the fluid boundaries between the natural and the artificial, the physical and the digital. It reflects on how gender and identity can be constructed, transformed, and performed today.

The works invite the audience to reflect on the changing representation of the human being and on the influence of technology on our perception of the body.
